The chirping of crickets, strange sounds everywhere. Darkness so thick you could feel it, thicker and darker than the one Egypt experienced during the plagues. "This must be an evil forest", Harris said to himself. He had been wandering aimlessly and without direction in this thick jungle for hours now, wondering how he got there. He needed an explanation or better still a way of escape. He couldn't bear another hour in this thick darkness, he does not know where he was coming from nor where he is going to. Was he suffering from amnesia? Maybe or maybe not, he had not been in an accident, at least he
can't remember being in one. Did he pass out? Maybe or maybe not, he drinks sometimes.
" How did I get here?", he screamed in desperation, tears streaming down from his face, making a journey from his eyes down his torso. Suddenly, he heard the sound of rushing feet, strange sounds. Wild animals or demons? Harris was scared. More desperately than before he screamed "Help me o Lord, how did I get here?". Right then a Light came down from heaven shining on a part of the jungle, as he lifted up his face to behold this blindingly shining light, he began to see some images on what looked to him like a big TV screen. In a few seconds, the images began to make sense to him.
First, he saw himself and his mum arguing. His mum broke down into tears rebuking him on his destructive habits of drinking, smoking, pornography, masturbation and gambling. Harris in return called her an unfortunate and crazy woman whose madness started when she got married to a stupid man like his father who had lost all of his sense during the civil war. A pause and then He saw a caption, " Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness". Proverbs 20:20. (To be continued).
