REFILLING; WE NEED IT

A beautiful Power Bank that looked like a phone. That was the parting gift George gave her when she was leaving for her NYSC year in 2012, Anike smiled to herself as she remembered the funny experience.
George had been held up at work the day she was leaving but he made sure she got the present through someone he had sent it with. The beautiful power Bank was well packaged with it's fine case and a note accompaniment. The note had read,
"It's a Power Bank. Charge your phone with it whenever there's no light, 'cos I need to speak with you every minute. I love you that much Anike. Gonna call ya to the extent that you 'll have to agree I'm actually going on this long journey with you. Too much for words, that's my love for you".

She'd been posted to Nasarawa state for her youth corp and apart from musing about the farness of her place of assignment, she thought more about how much she was going to miss George. They'd been engaged six months at that time and God has kept their love burning, even till now.
It was 2012 and that was her first time of seeing a Power Bank. "Power Bank." she'd said to herself, in her ears it sounded like Blood Bank. But since it was George that sent it, it was a welcomed gift. True to his promise George called her on the dot of every new hour throughout the journey and they spoke for at least fifteen minutes each hour. But she never asked about the Power Bank.
Upon settling down in Lafia, Anike discovered their electricity isn't as consistent as in Ife where she's coming from, and she worried about her phone and George until she remembered the Power Bank.
"'Twas so thoughtful of George", she mused.
Her second day in Yola, when the light had been gone for about 3hours she wondered about how to use the Power Bank, she didn't want to ask George, "I'm a graduate too you know".
She opened the case, it was so beautifully shaped like an Infinix Hot Note. If it was placed on a table, you're going to think it's a phone with it's backside up. It had come with a cord and Anike had been lucky enough to insert the two ends of the USB cord into the right places and geef! Her phone was charging, God bless George.
When George called to ask about the Power Bank, she told him she got it, everything and all. George didn't pursue the subject. They kept talking, Anike kept charging until Pim! The Power Bank went off, the light wasn't restored until about four days later and George was worried sick, her family too.
You know the end of the story.
The light was restored, she charged, George called and she told him about the power outage. When George asked about her Power Bank,
"It died, I think it spoiled".
"Died? Didn't you charge it everytime light came on when you were using it?"
A gentle look of mild shame creased her features.
Dearest Anike, Ayanfeoluwa, you need some charging and recharging. You need some refilling every now and then. You need a constant encounter with the Spirit of Life, the Holy Spirit. You don't just need a once in a life time huge encounter with the Holy Spirit, you need an everytime in a life time encounter with the Holy Ghost. The first Apostles didn't just get filled in Acts 2 and then forget about Him, they got filled again in Acts 4, and individually in many other places in the book of Acts. We need to constantly pray in the Holy Ghost whether we feel like it or not, not shunning spiritual meetings geared towards spiritual growth, involving Him in our major and Minor decisions and we will never be at a loss of what to say or do in every situation we 're faced with. Let's Stay tuned, Let's stay connected and we'll never be dry. Amen.
Jude 1(MSG)
20-21But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!
