Little did they know that what the white man was saying was "Apes, obey!" and they all ignorantly responded "Eh!". Could this mean they all agreed they were apes?
Ignorance has wrought havoc much more greater than that in world history. People and nations have signed treaties and entered into covenants they knew little or nothing about. Sometimes this may be
due to pride i.e the pride of not wanting the other party to know you can't fully comprehend what you are entering into. It may also be due to sheer carelessness or just the mistake of not verifying the facts and claims the other party has brought to you, like the case of Joshua and the Gibeonites.
However, Jesus has not left us comfortless or without guidance. He gave us His Spirit who helps us to see what the physical eyes can't see and to discern what the ordinary mind can't perceive. Reading between the lines is only possible with Jesus, with Him you know all things.
