The trip from Lagos Nigeria to Mando, a town in Sierra Leone was stressful, yet exhilarating, it was no joke at all. The volunteers from the Evangelism Team of God's Chosen Gospel Church Int'l (GCGCI) had set out from their respective homes by 4am on Monday morning to catch their flight to Sierra Leone Scheduled for 5am that same morning. On getting to the airport they'd learnt that the weather wasn't favourable, meaning they'll have to wait until it's safe to travel and that could take hours. Right there and then at the airport, not minding the number of peering eyes and listening ears, the team joined hands to declare God's counsel by the power in the Name of Jesus.
God was definitely journeying with them, because within seconds after their prayer, it was announced that the plane was good to go. They checked in their heavy luggage, they were screened and their hand luggage they stowed into the luggage rack after being ushered into the cabin.

Their plane took off at exactly 5:30am and after spending about two hours forty-eight minutes in the air, the plane landed at Lungi International Airport, Sierra Leone. On Arrival in Freetown, they lifted up holy hands blessing God for the safe trip and asking the Holy Spirit to lead them to Mando town, the mission field God had specifically laid on their heart when they were still in Nigeria. Apart from Deacon Tomi Albert, whose father was a native of Freetown, none of them had ever been to this intriguing and historical West African Country.
However, they'd done their research before setting out from Nigeria, they know the town is 24km North East of Freetown, about 79% of it's population are unbelievers and that even most of the believers are in need of revival. It was during one of their weekly unit prayer meeting that God had given them a specific word of prophecy through the Pastor's wife, "Next month, I am sending you to Sierra Leone to establish my Kingdom in Mando", the Holy Ghost had succinctly said. None of them knew, including mummy who gave the prophecy and Dcn Albert whose father was born in Freetown, that there was a town called Mando. With the help of a tour guide they'd hired at the capital, they eventually got to their mission field unscathed.
The palace buildings looked adorable and nice but from the gate, the GCGCI E-Team could sense tension and trepidation in the air. They weren't surprised when the chief palace guard who welcomed them told them the king suddenly became unconscious that morning and that the Royal medicine man, the only one who has the spiritual licence to cure the King is observing his annual 3days marathon sleep. During this special traditional rite, nobody asks the gods for anything because as soon as the Chief Priest closes his eyes in sleep, the gods also close their eyes, and ears too. That is the tradition, that is the custom. They see nothing, they hear nothing- and no doctor (be it native or medical), nobody but Santigi the Chief Priest touches the king no matter how qualified that doctor is. Will the king still be clinging to life when the gods eventually wake up? Is this his death? {To be continued}.
Isaiah 40
[28]Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
NB- Even though the story line is fiction, many of the facts given about Sierra Leone are true. The country needs Jesus. Pray for Sierra Leone. JesusCaresAndSoDoI- TiToluwaNiMi.
