Can you remember the story of the six blind men of Indostan? Oh yeah! So, they woke up one morning and unanimously decided to visit the Elephant desiring to know what it's like. Permit me to give them names jare... *winks* thanks.
James felt its broad and sturdy side and decided the Elephant looks like a wall. John the genius only needed to touch the animal's tusk to conclude it looks like a spear. On the other side, Jake felt its trunk and shouted, "It's definitely like a snake!". Short Jed could only touch its knee and concluded the Elephant was like a tree. Fanciful Julius came in contact with its ear and was sure the Elephant felt like a
fan. Lastly June, always behind, grabbed the animal's tail and thought it to be a rope. At the end, they all couldn't reach an agreement on what the Elephant looked like, each one being sure he was right and the others wrong.
What's the point? One, every natural human being can only know about that part of life he has been privileged to see, feel or touch. Secondly, you can't base your next decision or your life on human experience. There is only one thing you can totally base your life on, that is the Word of God. It is infallible, immutable, unchangeable and incorruptible. Am I saying don't seek counsel? No, I am saying any counsel that negate the Word should be cast out, do not even allow it a place in your trash bin! Whats more... The Word is the Person of Jesus, He is a lover and a friend. Experience isn't the best teacher, the Holy Spirit is.
