The praise session ended with Joy sweating profusely, she had danced so hard because it was AK on the drums, if it had been Josh, she wouldn't have danced as much. AK was a better drummer than anyone in the church. " It is time for the word", the pastor started, "our topic today is Faithfulness and our main text is 1Cor 4:2...". Joy began her jottings. Hmmmm she perceived a scent, a mix of cinnamon and vanilla, " That must be Richard's Perfume " she said to herself. While still jotting in her jotter, she stylishly looked around the church, Richie was not in service that morning, that much was ascertainable.
"But who else could afford that #40000 worth Sauvage, a cologne made by Christian Dior?", she kept wondering to herself, no it couldn't be Akin, that guy who gives offerings only at bible studies, neither could it be Emeka, he is too miserly to buy that kind of perfume. On and on she went but she was still writing, nodding and saying Amen with everyone.
The pastor after having talked on the importance of faithfulness was now talking about the lives of faithful men in the bible, the likes of Abraham, Timothy and Thychicus. However, Joy's mind was now on the exam she will be writing in two days time, she was ruminating on the things she had read and planning how she was going to get some other materials. She was just wishing that the service will end when the pastor announced that it was time to pray. Joy looked at her jotter, she had succeeded in penning down almost two pages but alas! nothing had succeeded in entering her heart.
Are you like Joy? Get back to your jotter and transport those jottings to your heart, that is where they belong. "...After those days, says the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people". Jer 31:33.
