DON'T LEAVE HIM BEHIND!

Alfred looked around his well spaced and beautifully furnished office, the smile of contentment creasing his lips. He has done well for himself, heaven and earth knows that. Just six years ago, he graduated from the University of Benin with a First class in Business administration. Gathering funds to start this business before he went to serve the fatherland wasn't easy but God helped him. "Hmm God...", Alfred thought, gently rocking his head.
He's been an Investment Capitalist now for five years and God has been faithful. He's made it big, the once tiny bro Alfred of Uniben is now a multi-millionaire. He's big now, in stature as well as financial worth, getting married in a couple of months to the lady of his dreams, he's taking care of his parents and siblings, moving in and out of the country, making bigger plans for the future, in short- He's
increased on all sides. All but one.
His ringtone jacked him out of his reverie, it's his pastor calling. Alfred shook his head as he silenced the phone, his conscience pricking him. Alfred hasn't been to any church in three weeks, blame his travellings. And on days he was home, resting is priority because a flourishing business needs a well-settled brain. He's been starving his spirit man too, no word study, no prayer, nothing that makes for spiritual growth.
Whenever he meets any of his old friends, there are always good comments on how much he has added weight, dressed better and all. But deep on the inside, Alfred knows a man is wasting away, but he is too busy to salvage him. In the past months before things got this intense, he had the habit of watching some gospel TV stations once in a while to make up for his loss of communion, but he'd stopped that too 'cos the messages only made him hungry for more and he's got no time for more, so he simply plunged himself into his work. Sometimes, like now, he misses the sweet consistent fellowship he once had with the Lord. He's rich, isn't he? But why isn't money filling the void in his heart? Why is he not finding fulfilment in the praises and admiration people shower him with day in day out? Despite his offerings and donations, why does he still wonder whether God still cheers him on?
Almost everyone in the world wants to prosper. But the amazing thing is when we say "I will prosper", we usually mean "I want to have a lot of money". The will of God for all His Children is that they prosper (Spirit, Soul and Body), all round prospe
