When we hear about the 'death' of a fellow believer, our first reaction is shock, followed by an expression of sympathy and our condolences (especially if the one who slept is not too close to us). After this, we shift our attention to God silently asking the 'why' question. This is common when the one who slept sleeps in the process of doing something for God (maybe like Uzzah, the one who attempted to steady the ark), a time when people least expect the believer to 'die'.
We sigh and moan and try to say nice things like 'it is well, God knows best..." God suddenly turns to a big, weird, unquestionable being who lives far away in heaven, a million miles away from our planetary
ecosystem, too far away to be touched by the feelings of our infirmities. Who dares seriously question Him, do you want to die too? LIES!Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight oh God.
Something bad has not happened to a believer who is called home (no matter what everybody thinks). The person who has experienced the worst event of his entire life at death is the one who has refused to accept Jesus' work of redemption on the cross, His death and resurrection. According to Paul the Apostle, TO DIE IS GAIN. However, what saddens heaven and earth is the story of a believer who has to be called home before time because of one reason or the other, a believer who has not fully accomplish the purpose of God for his life on this earth. That is why it is important for us christians to understand times and seasons. When it is your season of manifestation, don't sleep, when it is your season of rest, don't struggle, when it is your season to go back home, put your house in order. Plan as if you have a million years, serve God as if this day is one of your lasts.
Be sensitive to what God is telling you per time, don't be slothful in business, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord diligently. Let God be glorified in every aspect of your life. Did you know? To achieve all these is not on you, for it is God Himself who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Simply let Him do His work.
