Wright Brothers National Memorial is located near Kill Devil Hills in North
Carolina. It displays models of some of Wilbur and Orville Wright’s early

Louis Pasteur
French
scientist Louis Pasteur discovered that tiny organisms, which he called germs,
cause many diseases. He also showed that heating certain liquids, like milk,
kills harmful germs in the liquid. This method was named pasteurization, after
its creator.
