He got
to his feet and handled the ball again; he would like to practice some skills
before he went racing again. Just then, his phone rang; he went for it and
picked it up.
“Hello,
who is this?” William started.
“He—hello
Williams, this is Eddy...”
“Oh...
sorry Eddy, I should have known it was you—I didn’t really check my
phone
right... Maybe I should have recognized your voice too—maybe I was... I guessed
I’m really tired...”
“Cut it
off Willy, I’ve got some really important news for you.”
“News?—what
did... important news? I hope they are good?”
“It’s
the latest in town, have you heard?”
“Latest—heard?
Look here Eddy, I’m not in for no trash news this morning. All I’ve been trying
to do since morning was to get my skills right, I don’t want any of your jokes,
right?”
“Jokes...?
Is that what you call my sincere words, jokes? Well, if that is so, I don’t
think it will interest you to know that Flora, I mean—Flora the Zeal is back
from London. She came back just this morning...”
“What...?
Flora...? Where is she...? When? Who told you?”
“En—en,
so you can be this serious, I never imagined this. Look here Willy, why don’t
we leave my source alone for now and focus on the important thing at hand, the
lady is back, clear and simple.”
“Oh
Eddy, you really got me with this one. Wait, have you called Fred?”
“Ah—don’t
you trust me? I called him immediately I got the info. You’ve got to hear how
he was speaking, I’m sure he’s on his way to my house now...”
“Ok,
very well then. This is what I want you to do. I want you to get Fred and you
both should meet me in the blank hall building. I’ll be waiting for you there.
Is that ok by you?”
“Perfect
willy, just perfect... We’ll be there as soon as I get Fred.”
William
hanged up just then, he was very happy. His enervated body was taken over
suddenly by an energized one. He balanced up and stood straight, he threw the
object in his hand into the hoop and it went down by the basket. It was a good
goal, considering his distance. It was when the device went crashing on the
floor that William realized that he hadn’t thrown the ball, but his phone; his
newly bought IPhone 7. That wasn’t a very good signal of the future to come.
