EXPECTATIONS FROM A DISCIPLE

What is expected of disciples?

1.Commitment to Jesus. Mtt. 8:19-22, Mk. 1:17-18, Lk. 14:26-27.

2.Humble service. MK. 10:43-44

3.Following teachings of the sermon on the
mount. Mtt. 5:1 – 7:27.

4. Doing the will of God . Mtt. 12:49-50.

5. Loving one another. Jn. 13:34-35; 15:9-17.

6. Sharing with one another.  Acts 4:32-37; 11:28-29.

7. Making disciples of all nations. Mtt. 28:19

 Our lives, words and actions ought to provide a living expression of the saviour and Lord we serve; that is part of our witness. Matt. 5:13-16

The best way to summarise the life of a true disciple (Christian life) is that here and now by God’s grace we make progress in Godly Living (Holiness), not toward it.
