DOROTHY SERIES (post 1) God Has Not Forgotten!

Dorothy entered her room with soft tears streaming down her pretty face, looking at her now, one could almost not believe that she was the same person laughing her heart out some ten minutes ago at the Basket Ball court with Susan, her best friend and Dayne, Susan's fiance. The change in Dorothy's countenance in the past few minutes was dramatic, one moment she was laughing, then smiles and now sobs, quiet painful sobs.
She is a twenty eight year old graduate of Mechanical Engineering from a university of good repute, an intelligent, beautiful and smart lady working presently has a junior lecturer in the same prestigious university she graduated from and to cap it all, she is a child of God to the core. One thing Dorothy
can't understand, that thing which has been bringing tears often to her eyes lately is why she is still single now. Every man close to her presently are either married, engaged or not interested in any serious relationship. She has prayed, fasted, attended seminars and counselling sessions all to no avail, instead of the sky becoming clearer for her, the pressure seems to be mounting and what's more! Her younger sister got married three months ago, she is expecting a baby now. Even Susan, her best friend and prayer partner found her forever love two months ago, the guy(Dayne) is the perfect picture of a godly Prince charming, an answer to their days of prayers and waiting on the Lord, Dayne was worth every minute of the wait, Dorothy was sure of that and she was happy for Susan but why is it looking like she herself has been forgotten!
She has been serving God before she was able to know her right hand from her left in the choir and then in Christian Kids theater, was involved in serious school and village evangelism since secondary school. She has slept in more villages than she could count on her fingers doing nothing but evangelism and follow up. She Interpretes, teaches Sunday school and so on. Calls from home are no longer funny, all her friends are either engaged or married, she just couldn't understand why hers is taking so long.
Are you like my D, do you think you have been forgotten too? Here is God's Word for you in Hebrews 6:9-10. "But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things of you...For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love..." Will you please exercise a little Faith and Patience? With these two ingredients, you shall surely inherit the promise. Love you.
