FREEDOM IN HULL/AFRICA (SLAVE TRADE) 1

Edward was driving home, he had attended the meeting again. It was the third kind of it he had attended in the same week. The talks of the meetings were all the same
       .......let the slaves go, we shall pay you. Refusal to let go shall attract lawful punishment…...
Edward had had enough of those words; they certainly do not move him an
inch anymore. That was what all the meetings had been all about, repetition of those words. He wasn’t really bothered about attending such meetings; they don’t move him an inch anymore.
       Let them keep organizing and holding the stupid gathering they call a meeting, and i will keep attending. Where else can I possibly get such amount of money, if not from those people kind of nonentities who call themselves peace making beings?  They don’t know anything; I’m just getting started with them.....
“Fools,” Edward mumbled, “They are all fools. Do they really think I would leave my slaves in exchange for money? Never... It is absolutely impossible.”
Edward looked at the wallet beside him, his black wallet; he opened it and counted the notes with one hand while he drove with the other. It was the same amount, the same amount he had been receiving receiving for the third time on his two slaves.
       He was near his house now; he pulled his Beetle to the right side and packed it somewhere in his compound. Hardly had he gotten out of the old piece of metal, before he began to yell; “Jim! Jim! Jim!”
And almost immediately from inside the house, a low soft voice answered;
“I’m on my way sir….!”
Instantly, the owner of the voice appeared beside the house. From the expression on his face, one could be sure he was sick, sick in soul and spirit. Not as a result of a major infection, but surely from immense tiredness.  Jim had been working since Edward left, he had ordered him to wash, scrub and clean up the whole house as he had done the previous day. And now, his eyes were red, blue, green and his face dirty. He couldn’t stay for long in Edward’s presence; he fell back on his back and landed face down on the ground.
