He let
go of the Barbel and let down the line again. Then he began to think of why he
had gotten a Barbel as his first catch. For Fred, his first catch was always
significant; it gave him a clue to what would happen to him in the next few
hours, days, months or years. He hadn’t just caught a Barbel for no reason,
something shocking really awaited him.
Fred
let out his thoughts feelings and waited for his second catch; then after ten
minutes of waiting, a caught a pretty big Tilapia, good catch, perfect match. A
Tilapia would make a good companion, a good friend to talk to. Animals are the
best companions you can have, humans are not really trustworthy. When you a
human mate something and then finds it with another, don’t be really amazed.
The heart of a man is deceitful, who can know it? And out of the animals, Fred
thought fishes were the very best, and out of the fishes, Fred loved the
tilapia most. The fish was always attentive, ever loyal. But what bordered Fred
about animals was their inability to give him any advice of any sort, and Fred
really needed a lot of that.
So Fred
pulled out the Tilapia and put it in a bucket before him. The bucket had only a
little amount of water in it, enough to keep the fish alive. Fred put the reel
beside him, faced the fish and started talking.
“Hello
fish, good morning. There are a lot of things going on around me I want to talk
to you about. Ok, where do I start....? Yea, my mother wants me to become an actress.
Yea—an actress, you know an actress now, like—you know, someone who acts in a
cinema or a movie. Yea, she really wants me to be one of those. Do you really
think I will make a good one, will i? Hmmm, now you are shaking your tail, I
think you do know....”
Fred
was interrupted by the ringing sound of his phone; he dipped his hand into his
pocket and brought out the phone.
“Excuse
me guy, I’ve got to pick this call....” He placed the phone against his right
chin and turned his face to his left side.
“Hello...
I can hear you.” Fred said, listening attentively to the voice of the caller.
“What?
Flora....back? Where—exactly? When...? Why didn’t you call me the very second
you....”
And the
caller was off the line, leaving Fred in a complete state of outstandingly
exhilarating bewilderment. The next thing to be done would surely be amazing.
